The coronavirus doesnt discriminate between people but it affects everyone differently. I got my inspiration from the movie ‘Parasite’ and tried to emulate the scene where it rains, and has different effects on the rich and the poor. In the same way, due to coronavirus, my family has a completely different experience from someone on the street. In the end, I have shown how police is doing their duty in these tough times, putting their health on risk.
My aim was to click pictures of people at night showing the life around midnight. Filled with food, drinks and music.
The pictures were taken at three different location - Providence, New Orleans and Boston. The pictures in Providence were taken in a food truck that opens till late night to satisfy the hunger of people after a night of partying. Alternatively, the pictures in New Orleans were taken in a bar, where there was a performance by some fantastic Drag Queens. Lastly, the pictures of the beautiful performers was taken at the AfterHours in Northeastern Universit. It was a performance given by Emilia Ali and The Aces
I chose this topic for my final during my Black and White Photo class at Studio Arts College International, Florence. Through this project, I want to show the relationship between people and sports. I was in Italy during FIFA World Cup 2018 and unluckily Italy failed to qualify. And I am a huge fan of football (Manchester United Fan), so I decided to cover street football and the locals that play it.
There is something really intriguing about locals markets. It shows you what the people eat, drink and clothe in. The best part is that everything is very cheap, so if you are travelling, make sure to go to a local market.
The first set of photos is from a local food and clothes market in Florence. It only opened in the morning and you can see a lot of locals doing their grocery shopping here. The people were really friendly and did not hesitate when I was clicking their pictures.
Second set of photos are from Bangkok. It is a heaven for markets. And these are no ordinary market. I clicked two markets, Chatuchak Weekend Market and Damnoen Saduak Floating Market.
Chatuchak Market is one of the largest market in the world, covering almost 32 acres of land and around 10,000 shops. Damnoen Saduak Floating Market is a market where most of the vendors are either located on the sides of the canal or on the boats.
